God vs The Idea of God

 Growing up I read, listened  and watched many fairy tales and Disney movies. These stories revolve around fantasy and filled my mind with hope. It formed my mind to look and think about "True" love  in a certain way. As I got older and experienced relationships for myself I realized that my view on love was in correct and expectations were to high. This was caused mostly because my idea of love was a picture painted from the videos and stories I had seen when I was young. The way we think of God and how He acts toward us is no different than the way I view true love.
 Our minds can put God into a box. Inside the box, we control what God can and can not do. Because we are stuck on the Idea of God and not the true essence of God. The idea of God is subjective and opinionated. You can ask twenty people what there idea of God is and you will get twenty different answers. But since truth is king, there is only one true chemistry of God and we must do two things about it.
  One, we must retain the knowledge we know about Him. Remembering truths such as He is omnipresent and all good. Second we must search to learn more truths about Him. The world when they do accept a God sees Him with wrong and unrealistic expectations. That just like my fairy tale stories are just a recipe for heart break. You are looking for a God that does not exist. Well thankfully we have a way to the truth. And that is Jesus Christ. Hes true God and True man. God's word became flesh so that we can know Him better. Oh how our God loves us that he would take on our own form. We can relate so much more to another Human. Most all that God man points  the way to our Father God who we estranged through our sins.
 God can not stand when we put Him in a box. So much so He made the Second commandment "You shall not make for yourself any idol, nor bow down to it or worship it."He created this because an idol is an image we create of what we think God is and that most times can be the farthest thing of what He is. A little reminder here at the end of my thoughts, please remember God is with in everyone around us. Which makes me conclude sometimes God is a lot closer to us than what we might perceive.

God Helps Those Who Help Themselves

    One sunny morning, a few years back in my general contracting days, I hopped into my rusty pickup truck and turned the key in the ignition. "Bang" The passenger door closed with a thud. A wide smile from my cousin/helper, Pete, greeted my tired face. I put the gear stick in drive and sped off.
