It is Right and Just
In life we have priorities. Those priorities are usually participating in family life, school life, and work life. Sports and other recreational hobbies are commonly thrown into that mix. A vast majority of people put God in their priority list. However, God is not a priority. He is essential to our daily lives.
God deserves our worship and service. He not only deserves it; we owe it to Him. God is due our honor, love, and respect. Our world makes worship and service to our creator a mere hobby. It says "If loving your God is your thing, then do it. If not, just go about your life like the rest of us."
Living our life without even attempting to love and serve God is downright dangerous. In the Roman Catholic Rite of the Mass, the Priest proclaims "Let us give thanks to the Lord our God." The Congregation responds, "It is right and just."
The Priest then replies, "It is truly right and just, our duty and our salvation, always and everywhere to give you thanks, Lord, holy Father, almighty and eternal God."
This little recital of spiritual truths reminds us that going to Church on Sundays, and praying everyday is not only for personal gain. We do theses acts to remind ourselves who are Creator is. And to furthermore show ourselves, and the world that God is the Supreme Being, and is in need of our worship.
Obviously, we should worship, and pray out of a spirit of love. Loving God creates fruitful service to Him. Our world doesn't understand love. But it can understand what is ought of it. It is about times we all give God what is right and just. Until then, we will continue living in a world filled with chaos, division, and darkness.
This week set aside a moment to praise and worship our Heavenly, Father. Ask Him, to show you a way that you can love Him through an act of service.
