Mankind Desiring Christ to make the World into a Perfect Utopia

Jesus performed many miracles to show His followers and Judea that he was worthy to believe in. Perhaps, one of his most famous miracles was when he multiplied five loaves and two fishes to feed a hungry crowd of five thousand men (not including women and children) Even with this extraordinary act we see how the mentality of the City of Man works versus God's desired kingdom.

One can spot this mentality in the crowd right after they are fed. (John 6:15) Jesus, as he realised they were about to come and take him by force and make him king, fled back to the hills alone.) These people realized the power of Jesus but sought for Him to take care of their bellies and not so much their souls.

In the modern world the crowd is like the present society of America. Society loves all the humanaritian works done by Christians and the Church. Non Godly individuals appreciate when Christians feed and clothe the homeless, when the Church builds wells in Africa or provides healthcare to impoverished communities. However society refuses to let Christians minister spiritually. A Christian must not share their bigoted doctrines in the work place, school, or public platform.

Humaniritan services...Works of mercy are not performed to make a Utopia. These acts of love and service are performed from a conviction to love God. A love that mirrors Christ love for us. Christ's love to us does not always mean great material rewards or basic human living standards met. Jesus in the miracle of loaves and fishes was trying to show the people He was the Living Bread. The same Living Bread that feeds us at the altar table at every mass. Whoever eats the living bread will live forever. This bread is Jesus's flesh, which he gave for the life of the world.

What do you seek from God? Do you seek for Him to fulfil all your Human desires and necessities? Or do you seek first the Kingdom of God?
